ORIENTATION

Welcome early birds! Let’s talk about next week. We are really excited to kick of the 7-day ASL Bootcamp this coming Monday with all of you!

This livestream will be an overview of what you can expect next week, how to get the most out of the experience, and tips on how to navigate the different UNITS and POSTS.

DAY 1

Class: Build a solid foundation for success

Learning a new language can be one of the most rewarding endeavors we take on … however, it can also be one of the most challenging endeavors we take on!

Today we will be focusing on how you can build a solid foundation and set yourself up for success.

We will be talking about the importance of identifying WHY you are learning sign language so we can then move onto HOW to learn sign language.

Challenges of the Day

  1. Write down WHY you are wanting to learn sign language and come up with a PLAN to do it.
  2. Introduce yourself to someone else in sign language.

Now that we identified our WHY and figured out our HOW, it’s time to move onto WHAT.

Today we will be focusing on the basics so you can start communicating with ASL as quickly as possible.

Challenge of the Day

Learn at least 5 new signs on your own and record a video of yourself. If you’d like, you can email me the video and I can review it for you.

Challenge of the day

Write down one way you have made or plan on making learning sign language fun. (Feel free to share your ideas with me by email chris@aslbasics.com)

The second giveaway is a signed copy of our children’s book! This was a passion project for the past couple years and it was recently published about a month ago and has been getting great reviews. You can learn more about it here.

Congratulations to Annette Caddell and Joely DeMonte for winning today’s giveaways.

Day 5

Class: The Three Ms

Challenges of the Day

  1. Which one of the three Ms from today’s class do you plan on focusing on and how? (feel free to share your answer with me via email)
